PRELIMINARY PRAYER

As you arise from bed, stand with reverance and fear of God and say:
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Glory to You, our God, glory to You!
O Heavenly King, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, Who art everywhere and fillest all things; Treasury of Blessings, and Giver of Life, come and abide in us, and cleanse us from every impurity, and save our souls, O Good One.
Holy God. Holy Mighty. Holy Immortal Have mercy on us(three times).
Glory to the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, both now and forever and to the ages of ages.
O most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. O ord, cleanse us from our sins. O Master, pardon our transgressions. O Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Your Name’s sake.
Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy.
Glory to the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, both now and forever and to the ages of ages.
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, both now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
And the below troparia. 1st tone.
Having risen from sleep, we fall before you, O good One, and sing to you, mighty One, the angelic hymn: Holy, holy, holy are you, O God. Through the prayers of the Theotokos, have mercy on us.
Glory.
Tone 2.
Having aroused me from sleep and bed, O Lord, enlighten my mind and open my heart and lips that I may sing to you, Holy Trinity: Holy, holy, holy are you, O God. Through the prayers of the Theotokos, have mercy on us.
Both now.
Tone 3.
Suddenly the Judge will come and everyone's deeds will be revealed. But with awe we cry out in the middle of the night: Holy, holy, holy are you, O God. Through the prayers of the Theotokos, have mercy on us.
The Lord have merccy 12, and the prayers
1st prayer. Thanksgiving with supplication.
As I rise from sleep, I thank you, Holy Trinity, for because of your great goodness and patience, you were not angry with me, an idler and sinner, nor have you destroyed me in my sins, but have shown your usual love for me. And when I was prostrate in despair, you raised me to glorify with your power. Enlighten now my mind’s eye, open my mouth to study your words and understand your commandments, to do your will and sing to you in heartfelt adoration, and praise your most holy name, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Second prayer.
Glory to you, King, God almighty, who through your divine and loving providence have consented that I, an unworthy sinner, should rise from sleep and obtain entrance into your holy house. Accept, Lord, the voice of my prayer as you accept those of your holy and spiritual powers; and that not through my defiled lips, but from a pure heart and humble spirit, praise may be offered to you so that I also, with the bright lamp of my soul, may become a companion of the wise virgins and glorify you, God the Word, who is glorified in the Father and the Spirit. Amen
Third prayer.
God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has raised us from our beds and gathered us at the hour of prayer, grant us grace in the opening of our mouths and accept our thanksgiving to the best of our ability, and teach us Your commandments, for we do not know how to pray as we ought unless You, Lord, guide us by Your Holy Spirit. Therefore, we beseech You: if we have sinned up to this present hour, forgive, absolve, and pardon us. For if offenses remain unobserved, Lord, who can endure them? For redemption is with You. You alone are holy, helper, mighty, and defender of our life, and in You is our praise forever. Let the dominion of Your kingdom be blessed and glorified, of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Fourth prayer.
Lord, our God, who has dispelled the drowsiness of sleep from us and gathered us by Your holy call, accept our nighttime lifting of hands and our confession to You concerning the judgments of Your righteousness. Receive our petitions, intercessions, confessions, and nocturnal worship. And grant us, O God, unwavering faith, certain hope, sincere love; bless our entrances and exits, our actions, deeds, words, and thoughts. And grant that we may reach the beginnings of the day praising, hymning, and blessing the goodness of Your ineffable kindness. For holy is Your name and glorified is Your kingdom, of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Fifth prayer.
Shine, O Master and lover of humanity, in our hearts the unfading light of Your knowledge of God, and open the eyes of our mind to the comprehension of Your Gospel teachings. Instill in us also the fear of Your blessed commandments, so that, having trampled down all fleshly desires, we may live a spiritual life, thinking and doing all things to please You. For You are our sanctification and our illumination, and to You we give glory, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Sixth prayer.
God, our God, who strengthens the intellectual and rational powers according to Your holy will, we pray to You and beseech You, accept from us, together with all Your creations, the praise according to our ability, and reward it with the riches of Your goodness. For every knee in heaven and on earth and under the earth bows to You, and all breath and creation praises Your incomprehensible glory, for You alone are true and abundantly merciful. For all the powers of heaven praise You, and we offer glory to You, to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Seventh prayer. To the most holy Trinity.
To the unborn God and Father, to the only-begotten Son, to the Holy Spirit the Comforter, O most holy Trinity, unique and one and indivisible! We confess and bless You now and with our hearts and mouths forever. Amen.
