PRAYER BOOK FOR THE ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN
All people need prayer more than trees need water. For neither can trees bear fruit unless they drink water by the roots, nor can we bear the precious fruit of godliness if we do not water ourselves through prayer. That is why when we wake up from the bed, we must always reach the sun with the worship of God and when we sit at the table to eat and when we are going to sleep. Rather, at every hour and one prayer to offer to God, thus passing through prayer a path equal to the time of day.
Saint John Chrysostom
